Our Dentists
Dr. Sarah Johnson, DDS
Lead Dentist & Practice Owner
Dr. Sarah founded Hometown Family Dental in 2009 with a vision of creating a dental practice that feels like home. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and has completed advanced training in anxiety-free dentistry techniques.
Her passion is helping nervous patients overcome their dental fears. She takes the time to listen to each patient's concerns and creates personalized treatment plans that prioritize comfort and trust.
When she's not at the practice, Dr. Sarah loves spending weekends with her two kids, Emma and Jack, and her golden retriever, Max. She's an avid reader and volunteers at the local community center teaching kids about dental health.
Dr. Michael Chen, DDS
Pediatric Dentistry Specialist
Dr. Mike joined our team in 2015 and has become beloved by our youngest patients. He completed his pediatric dentistry residency at Boston Children's Hospital and brings a special gift for connecting with kids of all ages.
His approach combines gentle techniques with fun, interactive education. He believes that creating positive dental experiences in childhood sets the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health. Parents often tell us their kids actually look forward to their appointments with Dr. Mike!
Outside the office, Dr. Mike is a youth soccer coach and enjoys hiking with his wife and their rescue dog, Luna. He's also known for his impressive collection of silly jokes that keep kids laughing during their visits.

Emily joined our team in 2018 and brings incredible energy and positivity to every appointment. Her attention to detail and caring nature make her an invaluable part of our team. She's especially great with children and has a knack for turning nervous frowns into smiles.

Office Manager
Karen is the friendly face you'll see when you walk through our doors. She's been managing our office for 8 years and knows our patients by name. Karen handles scheduling, insurance questions, and makes sure everything runs smoothly so you have the best possible experience.
